Why I didn't attend Gatsby's funeral ...

I didn't attend Gatsby's funeral because I was too shallow. I never cared about anyone else except for myself. I could never care for someone else, i was only worried about my own pleasure or misery. When Gatsby left the picture, i chose to stay with Tom. I chose to stick where the money and the respectability were. I didn't want anyone to draw attention to my affair, and  if I was to attend it would have shown a lot of attention to my affair. I felt bad that Gatsby went through his life to become the man that I wanted, but I was never worthy of him. I then left to go on a trip with my husband Tom to plan to fix our marriage. Since Gatsby and Myrtle have passed away, we decided to focus on our life and marriage.
